The Faeries and I are so honored to discover that Pan and Blaze Faeries have been featured as part of the Earth Day Daily Deviations! This is the first time we have been honored by a DD and we would just like to thank everyone for all of the kind words and favs. A very special thank you to Kitten-of-Woe for the suggestion, and 2dazed for the feature! Thank you and blessings from the Faeries.

Hello my friends! Greetings from Gossamer Glen! Just wanted to post the latest news and wish you all well! The Faeries and I are delighted to be featured in the new Winter Issue of Faerie Magazine! We are quite excited! It's now available at Borders, Barnes and Noble and fine bookstores everywhere. It's also available at faeriemagazine.com...

-----------------------------------------------------

If you've been my friend for any length of time, you will have realized by now that I don't post photos of myself. I'd rather post photos of my work! But today, I had to make an exception!

My very dear, sweet friend, Aranuir :iconaranuir: worked his magic on this photo that I had recently taken...that sounds strange, but it is correct...I took the photo! Gotta love self-timers! Anyway...! He made it gorgeous and magical for me! His work is just too stunning to not share...even if I am in it! Please visit his gallery. His work is pure magic!

Just had to share this!

Greetings friends! The Faeries of Gossamer Glen have been busy! Look for us in the soon to be published, Imagine 2006, Undiscovered Talent of Fantasy. A new book available summer 2006. Seventy five artists submitted, but only 50 were chosen. Each artist was allowed to submit up to four pieces of work for consideration. Two hundred and thirty nine works of art were submitted. Only 60 were chosen for publication. Ten of the fifty artists selected received a two page feature. The Faeries of Gossamer Glen are honored to have been selected for a two page feature. We are also extremely honored to be included with so many other very talented artists, including my dear friend and fellow artist, Kevin Buntin, AKA Boggleboy.

The Faeries of Gossamer Glen were also very surprised and extremely honored when they discovered that they had been selected and adapted as cover concepts for Imagine 2006! You may view all of the wonderful concepts and beautiful submissions here...

Winning Cover

Not the Winning Cover, but my personal favorite!

Thank you Jenni
and Ben and anyone else who had anything to do with this! The faeries are very grateful!

The faeries send a very special thanks to for making us aware of this wonderful project in the first place! Thank you!

I've received some inquiries regarding Faerie Magazine so I thought I'd post the information here in my journal in case others may be wondering the same thing.

Question: So, I have a question about Faerie Magazine, is it really worth it? I haven't seen one in stores, I really need to go look, but I'm just curious if you get a lot out of it or if it's mostly just fluff...

My Answer: Well...I suppose it depends on what you're looking to get out of it. I personally think it's the most gorgeous magazine I've ever come across. The sheer beauty of it inspires me. The photography is beautiful. The interviews with the featured artists, such as Wendy Froud, Amy Brown and Jessica Galbreath are interesting. I enjoy the ads and discovering new fantasy artists and products. They also feature articles on interesting places that have some association with faerie lore. They do feature articles on the history and lore of faeries. They also feature musicians. Brian Froud has now signed on to write a column for each issue. I would suggest going to Borders or Barnes and Noble, or even your local independent book seller, and browsing through a copy to see what you think. It is definitely an art magazine. It's not hard hitting journalism! If your local bookstore isn't carrying it yet, you can request it. It's in nearly every system now. If you can't find a copy, let me know and I'll see what I can do!

Reply: That's just what I was hoping to hear. I was fearful of the fluffy nature of it, just someone trying to make a buck on an area of interest that's expanded in the last few years... I've gotten the mailings from world of froud on it which peeked my interest, and then you were mentioning it... it's good to hear it's more of an art mag... thanks! I'll definitely go look for it... and quite possibly buy up the back issues!!

My Response: You are so welcome! It's definitely not a piece of fluff that someone is printing in their basement and trying to pass off as a "real" magazine! It's a very beautiful, high quality magazine that is commercially produced and distributed. The editor is an artist herself and has been working in the fantasy industry for many years. She is familiar with, if not knows personally, many of the major faerie and fantasy artists. I would recommend ordering the back issues. Some of the articles are a series and continue from magazine to magazine. The winter issue is now on the stands, you may possibly find an autumn issue still out there somewhere, but the summer and the premier issue you would have to order. If you really like it, you can subscribe and they'll send it right to you! [link]

Any other questions...feel free to ask! :)
